Egg donation treatment is the process of transferring the embryo which is fertilized by the sperm taken from the father and egg from a donor to a woman who cannot get pregnant due to reason such as cancer treatment with radiation therapy or chemotherapy, hormonal issues and premature or surgical menopause.
Before the transfer takes place, the recipient's uterus and (endometrium) is prepared with medication. Estrogen ( dominant feminine hormone). Containing pills or dermal patches are used for this purpose. Then, embryos (eggs fertilized by the sperm) are transferred into the uterine cavity with in 2 or 3 days. The number of embryos to be transferred is decided upon the health of the embryos and the condition of the mother to be.
In our clinic, we provide psychological evaluation and counselling before treatment. The Follow up examination after conception, is no different than regular pregnancies. Psychological evaluation and research on women who have become mothers via egg donation show that there are no differences in their commitment and love for their children and their family ties.
The first steps of the treatment (first examination and evaluation, preparation of the uterus, endometrium and tests) are taken where the patient lives or at the nearest available centre.
